Australian spin-bowling all-rounder Sophie Molineux was acquired by RCB for INR 30 lakh at the WPL Player Auction. Since making her debut for Australia in 2018, she has featured in 38 T20Is, showcasing her skill and versatility. In the 2024 edition of the WPL, Sophie played a vital role in RCB’s title-winning campaign. The left-arm spinner was a key member of the squad, claiming 12 wickets in 10 matches. Her ability to strike in the middle overs provided RCB with crucial breakthroughs, including a sensational three-wicket over in the final. She finished as RCB’s highest wicket-taker and the third-highest in the league. However, RCB’s star spinner has been ruled out of the TATA WPL 2025 due to injury, a significant setback for the team.
