Jintimani Kalita, a talented 22-year-old medium pacer and useful left-handed lower-order batter from Assam, has been roped in by the Gujarat Giants (GG) for the TATA WPL 2026 season as an injury replacement for fast bowler Titas Sadhu. Kalita's signing offers GG a valuable all-round option. While bowling is her primary role, Kalita possesses aggressive batting capabilities. After some strong performances for Assam in domestic cricket and for India B in the Under-19 Women’s Challenger Trophy in 2021, a then teenaged Kalita grew in stature. She became the first player from Assam to be picked in the WPL when Mumbai Indians brought her on board at her base price of INR 10 Lakh in the inaugural auction. Kalita went on to play 13 matches for MI across multiple seasons and was part of their two title-winning squads in 2023 and 2025.
