The Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) formidable five-match winning streak in the TATA WPL 2026 came to a decisive end as the Delhi Capitals (DC) delivered a commanding all-round performance to secure a comprehensive seven-wicket win at the BCA Stadium, Vadodara in Match 15. This resulted in a significant boost to DC’s playoff aspirations, as they reached the second spot in the points table.
Opting to field first, the Delhi Capitals bowlers capitalized early, quickly exerting control over the free-scoring RCB batting lineup. The opening partnership between Smriti Mandhana and Grace Harris started positively, yielding 36 runs before Harris departed for 9. This proved to be the highest stand of the innings as DC's Indian spinners tightened the screws during the middle overs.
Free flowing and all class! 🙌

Experienced all-rounder Marizanne Kapp was instrumental, bowling with impeccable control to secure key wickets, finishing with figures of 2 for 17. However, it was the impactful spell from youngster Nandni Sharma that truly dismantled the innings, as she claimed 3 for 26 runs, including the crucial wicket of RCB captain Smriti Mandhana, who top-scored with a 34-ball 38. Chinelle Henry (2 for 22) and Minnu Mani (2 for 18) chipped in with useful contributions with the ball as the RCB innings saw a continuous fall of wickets as their batters were dismissed for single-digit scores. The 2024 champions were eventually bundled out for a modest total of 109 in exactly 20 overs, their lowest total in TATA WPL history.

Chasing 110 for victory, the Delhi Capitals experienced a brief wobble at 24 for 2 after openers Shafali Verma and Lizelle Lee departed early, both falling to the disciplined bowling of Sayali Satghare. Shafali was stumped courtesy of Richa Ghosh’s splendid glove work while Lee was caught at dine leg, thanks to an excellent diving catch by Georgia Voll. However, the experienced South African batter Laura Wolvaardt anchored the innings with trademark composure. She built a solid and steady 52-run partnership with captain Jemimah Rodrigues, who was dropped twice in a couple of fielding lapses by RCB.
Impressive from Richa Ghosh! ⚡️
