Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) extended their perfect start to the TATA Women's Premier League (WPL) 2026, securing their fourth consecutive victory with a commanding eight-wicket win over Delhi Capitals (DC) to conclude the Navi Mumbai leg of Season 4.

An outstanding start with the ball, followed by a masterclass in batting from skipper Smriti Mandhana, ensured a comprehensive victory for the table-toppers.

Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, RCB's bowlers were clinical from the outset, dismantling the top order of DC. Lauren Bell and Sayali Satghare made the new ball talk with two wickets apiece in the first two overs. Lizelle Lee, Laura Wolvaardt, Jemimah Rodrigues, and Marizanne Kapp saw their stumps going for a toss and DC were 10/4 inside the second over.

Shafali Verma then began to counter-attack, adding 59 runs with Niki Prasad, and became the first player to 50 sixes in the WPL, in the process. While DC lost two more quick wickets to be stranded at 88/6 at the halfway stage, Shafali continued her aggressive approach, reaching her seventh WPL half-century off just 27 deliveries. With another good partnership, between Shafali and Sneh Rana, DC were 118/7 at the 15-over mark.

Bell came back to bag her third wicket and send Shafali back for 62(41). However, a crucial late cameo from debutant Lucy Hamilton (36 off 19 balls) helped DC reach a fighting total of 166.

Bell and Satghare both finished with three wickets each, and Prema Rawat impressed as well with 2/16 (3 overs).

In the chase, RCB lost the big-hitting Grace Harris early, with Kapp delivering DC’s breakthrough. However, the Smriti Mandhana show took over soon after. The RCB captain dominated the bowling, reaching a 31-ball 50, and her team were placed well at 83/1 after 10 overs, needing 84 more runs in the final 10.

After a measured start in her first game of the season, Voll joined the run-scoring party as well, with the duo’s partnership going well beyond 100 runs to take the table-toppers to 130/1 with five overs to go. Mandhana kept going and, once again this season, it seemed like a first-ever WPL hundred was in store.

Going along superbly on 96(60), Mandhana smashed a shot towards point off the bowling of Nandni Sharma, where Hamilton took a very good catch diving to her right, leaving Mandhana just four runs short of the major milestone.

Voll then applied the finishing touches, reaching her third WPL half-century in four games and helping RCB maintain its hundred percent record to start the season, with 10 balls to spare.
