Tanuja Kanwer bagged a contract of INR 50 lakh at the inaugural TATA WPL auction, which was more than what some international cricketers like Heather Knight and Hayley Matthews earned at the time. While she picked up just five wickets in the first season, she doubled that tally in 2024, and picked up eight wickets in 2025 as well. The left-arm spinner has been a regular at GG, having also made her T20I and ODI debuts in 2024. On the back of three good seasons with GG, the team showed faith in her talents and brought her back on board for 2026.
