Born on Match 19, 1998, Hayley Mathews is a right-handed top-order batter from the West Indies. She is known for her aggressive stroke play and clean hitting. Matthews' international debut came at the age of sixteen, in a T20I against New Zealand in September, 2014. Hayley was a key member of the West Indies squad that won the Women's T20 World Cup 2016. In front of a home crowd in Bridgetown, Matthews scored her maiden ODI century against South Africa. The talented top-order batter was sold for INR 40 Lakhs to the Mumbai Indians in the inaugural WPL auction. And she sparkled in the first season with her all-round efforts, providing aggressive starts and finishing as MI's third-highest run-getter. She was the joint-highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 16 wickets. The West-Indian batter will again be the key to MI given the value she provides with the bat and ball.
