Hailing from the Caribbean, Hayley Matthews has been a star batter and also a leader for the West Indies women’s team in the recent past. The right-handed top order batter has been in terrific form off late having scored 538 runs in WT20Is in the calendar year 2024. She was also named in the ICC Women’s T20I team if the year 2024 which speaks volumes of her talent. The West Indian was bought by MI for INR 40 lakhs in the inaugural WPL auction and she ended the season as MI’s third highest-run getter and was the joint highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 16 wickets. Matthews will be playing a key role in MI’s middle order this year too.
