Seventeen-year-old G.Kamalini from Tamil Nadu was acquired by the Mumbai Indians for a staggering INR 1.6 crore in TATA WPL 2025. Kamalini is a stylish hard-hitting left handed wicket-keeper batter who has shown signs of greatness at a very early stage in her career. The uncapped youngster from Tamil Nadu played a crucial role for her state and helped them win the U-19 domestic tournament in October 2024. She was also the top scorer with 79 runs in a Under-19 tri-series final between India B against South Africa A. The year 2025 proved to be extra special for her as she won the title with Mumbai Indians and also went on to make her T20I debut for India later in the year. Ahead of TATA WPL 2026, MI showed faith in her by retaining the youngster for INR 50 lakh. The upcoming season presents a valuable opportunity for her to sharpen her skills, gain exposure at the highest level and grow through consistent match experience.
