At just 25, Amelia Kerr has established herself as one of the most complete all-rounders in world cricket. Hailing from New Zealand, she is renowned for her consistency with both bat and ball and her ability to influence games in multiple phases. The Mumbai Indians signed her for INR 1 crore after winning a bidding war in the inaugural TATA WPL season. Kerr has been a core member of the franchise since then as she finished as the joint second-highest wicket-taker in the 2024 edition and also emerged as MI’s second-highest run-scorer that season. On the international stage, she played a key role in New Zealand’s triumph at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 and was named the ICC Women’s T20I Cricketer of the Year 2024. Her impact peaked in TATA WPL 2025, where she claimed the Purple Cap with 18 wickets, helping MI lift their second title. Currently the second-highest wicket-taker in WPL history, Kerr was retained for INR 2.2 crore ahead of the 2026 season and is set to once again be a driving force in MI’s push for another championship.
